SUNDAY WORSHIP 10:30 A.M.
106 years long – a remarkable mid-summer event helps meet community needs
More than a century ago, a group of women in Jaffrey Center NH decided that there were significant community needs that weren’t being addressed. So, through their church (The First Church in Jaffrey Center, founded in 1780), these motivated ladies mounted a fair, proclaiming that proceeds were to support service, food, housing and other needs in their small community located in the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire (SW). Today the First Church in Jaffrey continues to organize this affair, but more than 100 volunteers from the wider community work strenuously to make the event happen. The Fair is fun for all ages, as you will see. It lasts only 3 hours and is always held on the first Wednesday in August. You might want to put that date + place on your calendar!
